Kalafer mentioned in NY Times

Check out this article in the New York Times features minor-league baseball in New Jersey and is centered around Somerset Patriots owner Steve Kalafer. There is some news on the stalled Kalafer-owned Bergen Cliff Hawks, who are supposed to join the Atlantic League one of these days.

“We look forward to selecting an operator by the end of the year capable of operating a first-class franchise and moving forward with the development of the stadium.”

Sounds like rhetoric to me. Can they really build the stadium they want for only $20 mil? Wasn't Commerce Bank almost that much 10 years ago?

I hope Steve Kalafer finds a new location near the Meadowlands and builds his stadium before the Xanadu folks do. Should that happen, I expect the traffic to his park on a warm summer night will be higher than to this albatross going up near Giants Stadium!

Kalafer seems like an excellent owner, at least from a fan's perspective. My family has never had a bad time at a Patriots game, everything is top notch.
